You hear wrong. This is true if you want to set up a fab shop yourself and
turn out silicon. But there are _lots_ of fab lines that will run a set of
chips for you... remember that he _already_ has a proven design... And the
design costs _far_ more than the production... look at what chips are selling
for today... ASICS are fairly cheap by any standard...

I have no idea what you mean... He has built the machine... So all you
are hung up on is whether he can deliver it to the end-user or not? Why
not just wait rather than making statements that are insulting? Either he
will sell them or he won't. I suspect the former. He generally doesn't
put things into writing and then walk away from them..

yes.. but the hot air isn't coming from Hsu. Why don't you first investigate
how expensive it is to get someone to produce a run of (say) 1000 ASIC chips
for you? And _then_ figure out whether he can deliver this at a cost that will
be attractive or not. Rather than 'guessing' or "I have heard that.." sort of
comments?

small wager?

Yes... DB looked terribly weak.... By the way, when was the _last_ time
Kasparov lost a _match_ with any opponent? Wasn't it NY in 1977? Certainly
no one would want to buy such a machine/program when we have all these micro
programs that are just tearing the #1 player in the world up at 40/2, right?
