They are both using the same hardware/software configuration. Hardware: Compaq
PII 400 MHz. Software: Chessbase 7 with Hiarcs 7.32 engine.
Anand is more familiar with Chessbase 7 than Karpov. Remember that Karpov,
unlike Kasparov, comes from the old generation of chess students who relies more
on human analytical skills rather than using a computer to help in the chess
analysis. Karpov is living in the age of the dinosaurs when comes to using the
computer as a tool to analyze chess positions.
