I did some comparisons using my own chess engine, and it was a bit faster when compiled using VC++ 6.0 It's not that much of course, but better than nothing. Unfortunately I only have one number left from that test series, it says 125 seconds to find the correct move in one of the test positions for VC++ 5.0 and 118 seconds for the same program compiled with VC++ 6.0 Greetings, Heiko.
