What's the point of Formula 1 racing or the Olympic Games. They demonstrate which combination of man (and machine) can perform best at a particular event at a particular point in time, they allow competitors to meet (as you say), and they provide entertainment in the process. Different combinations may have different budgets; that's life. Rodney Topor
