I don't think Hiarcs is the best overall program. It is loosy in closed
positions, and its endgame play is not very good either. If you take a look at
the Hiarcs-Junior WCCC game, Hiarcs played planlessly for a few moves from move
25 onwards, and allowed Junior to equalize the position easily. Hiarcs was not
able to convert his tiny advantage into something more concrete. Give such
position to GM Karpov and he could easily make a full point for White. I think
that Junior is a better engine than Hiarcs, at least it plays closed positions
better than any other Chessbase engines. Although it has the underpromotion bug,
and some tactical blindness which needs to be correct. I hope that Amir releases
a new version of Junior, and all the bugs get fixed.
