Thanks Chris. I'll try it. For some reason I hadn't realized that I could pit different CM personalities against each other. The only problem is finding some free computer time!? I have been using piece values based on a recent article in Chess Life, or a close approximation of same: Q=9.6, R=5, B=N=3.2, P=1. The main variance they found was the bishop pair = +0.5 extra. JRM
