Chris, Task accomplished. That didn't take very long. I now have a CM6555 personality. My only doubt was what to set ttable in cm.ini. I have an old slowpoke i486 66MHz. My benchmarks suggest it is about 1/3rd as fast as a Pentium 100MHz. So I suppose I should set ttable to about 1/9th of your PII 300MHz setting of 16MB. I set it for 2 MB, which might be stretching things. So, what's the verdict on CM6555? Is CM6555 significantly stronger than CM6000? My main interest is to know/discover the best CM personality settings in order to find the best move when using about 4-12 hours per half-move search time, i.e. always 9 ply minimum, and usually 10-12 ply on my machine. Any suggestions appreciated! JRM
