Subject: Better chess GUI suggestion

What would be a good feature to add to a chess playing computer GUI?

I'll offer the following suggestion: a "smartmove" feature where a move can be
entered by specifying the destination square. If there is only one legal move
for a given destination square, the move is made automatically. If there is
more than one move, then the departure square must then also be specified. This
would be in addition to the normal departure square first method of move entry.
The smartmove feature in the latter case leads more often in unintended moves,
compared to what I propose.

This would allow for very efficient move entry. Ideal for bullet chess. The
advantage is greatest in the endgame. In many simple endings, this feature
would benefit on almost all of the moves. This would help reduce the
"advantage" computers have over humans in the "mechanics" of making a move.

This would not help in the mechanics of promoting a pawn, however, which would
remain awkward. A good suggestion on how to improve that or any other idea
would be appreciated.
