Subject: Possible win for Ferret?

I was _really_ surprised on FICS to watch Ferret play 37. g3 instead of 37. Ke3,
as I figured the latter would win fairly easily. Say for instance:

37. ... Kd6 38. Ke4 Rxc6 39. Rxc6 {from here on every move is forced} Kxc6 40.
Kxe5 Kb6 41. Ke6 Ka5 42. Kf7 Kxa4 43. Kxg7 a5 44. f4 Kb3 {same story no matter
where he moves} 45. f5 a4 46. f6 a3 47. f7 a2 48. f8Q a1Q+ 49. Qf6, and I do not
believe black can prevent white from moving his king down and capturing the
remaining pawn and escorting his own two up.

If instead black tries 39. ... Kd6 40. Rc5, and black loses with 40. ... Kd6 41.
Rxe6 Rxc6 42. Kf5, and also with 40. ... Kf6 41. c7 Ke6 42. Rxe5+ and the
kingside pawns are undefendable.

If anybody can help me confirm these lines, that would be great. If they can be
torn apart, that is not so great, but better than thinking that 37. Ke3 wins. :)

James
