Hello Ted,

Welcome to the Hiarcs 7.32 Confusion Club. I couldn't tell you much about the
Beta except it has to do with Vitamin A - Beta Carotene. As for the 4-piece
endgame, I believe that info is on the Tablebase manual. Initializing Tablebases
means initializing confusion. The tablebase manual was not written for simple
folks like you and me. I have asked these and other questions to Chessbase and
have not received an answer in over a week - maybe they don't know either. How
much attention was paid to marketing this excellent program when the manual in
Hiarcs is called Fritz 5.32 and describes what features Fritz has but Hiarcs
does not? Maybe we can start a Hiarcs 7.32 Confusion Club and figure it out by
us all praying to God for the answer. Oh, if you go to www.ChessBase.com, check
out T-notes for June 20. I believe, and you should find some information on
Tablebases - even the 4-piece endgame question you have.
If you find out the answer to initilizing Tablebases - by all means do post it,
you may get checks in the mail. :)
