On a 400 Mhz machine, Fritz needs 96 MB RAM to play at full strength. At 500 Mhz, it needs 120 MB. Hiarcs seems to require much less for hash tables. Also, maybe Fritz is more efficient in time management, and thinking on opponent's time, but this is only speculation.
