Hi Mel, The 4 piece tablebases are on the CD and dont need to be installed anywhere if you dont want to. Installing them on your harddrive just gives you Faster Access to the tablebases! The way i understand this is that you just need to leave your CD in its drive while playing a game of chess and when an ending arises in your game it will Access from the CD because the Default setting for the Path is your D drive. This is why you need to change the path when installing on to your harddrive or it will keep trying to access from the CD, as the default Path is D. Best regards, Terry Ripple
