I guess that the computers can live up to their rating against unprepared players, but as you say when you have studied the "type of play" from the computer you can perform 100-200 points better. I have a friend who is about 150 elo better then me and he typically wins say 7 of 10 games against me. But when we play (at our level) against Mach3(elo2000) I perform slightly better. I have played thousands of games against it and know the weaknesses but he is not familiar with them (yet). Best regards Bertil SSDF
