I'm not quite sure how they could disable it...  ie it opens its own file
internally so unless it is disabled intentionally it should work no matter
what.

look for 'position.bin' and 'position.lrn'...  if they aren't there, then
it is intentionally turned off for reasons unknown...  if they are there
and are getting bigger as you play (getting bigger slowly, I hope, as each
entry represents something bad happening) then it is working ok...
