Regardless of what the docs say. CDRom access times are _horrible_. And if Hiarcs is accessing them inside the tree, it is going to die and lose games it ought to win because it will be searching so shallowly. Put 'em on a good hard drive or don't use them except for testing a 5 piece ending. Otherwise performance is going down the drain. These things hurt speed badly even on an 80 mb/sec 5ms drive. A CD is 100X slower.
