It's obvious that AMD plans on recouping their losses with this processor by competing against the PIII. The announced prices are very revealing: 500 Mhz chip - $324 550 Mhz chip - $479 600 Mhz chip - $699 (!) I share your hopes though. I hope it rocks. If it does, I will be getting one of these babies in the next month or two (wait for test results and for the prices to drop somewhat).
