Odell, Turn the "show analysis" to 0 , in other words, off. If your opponent can see your programs' train of thought then it will be impossible for it to win. I think that a lot of of these so-called wins against computers in informal events result from watching the computer analysis lines and selecting a move that "optimizes" ones position. It is like taking a multiple choice test vs doing oral board exams. You can't BS your way out of really knowing something on the orals. Hiarcs 6 is inferior to Hiarcs 7.32 and I have gone into lost games that Hiarcs 6 had lost and had Hiarcs 7.32 come out of them with draws or better. On the other hand, I use the "show analysis" set to 3 in order to learn good chess. I know that it is "cheating" but I am only interested in learning and not competing. Tim Frohlick
