I won't argue with this opinion or confirm it.  I have little experience with
the DOS HIARCS 6.  However, remember that one of the big advertising points for
this program was the perfectly true claim that it won a match at tournament time
controls against an International Master.  I think one of the things we can
learn from this whole brouhaha is that such claims don't tell the whole story.
On the other hand, since it did have this result, it must have something going
for it.

Do I understand correctly that Ivanov quit after one game, or before the match
had been decided?  That's too bad.  If the match had been completed, Genius
indeed might have won, but surely it isn't safe to assume that it *would* have
been so.

Perhaps I misunderstood you completely and Ivanov quit only after the match had
been decided but before all the scheduled games had been played.  I'm sorry, but
I missed your previous posts about this; would you mind clarifying?
