Todays programs all have holes that can be attacked by cognoscenti. Just have your friend try his little attacks on Hiarcs 7.32 on a PII 500 and he will go down in flames. The machines and programs are getting better every year. Remember when you used to beat the "old" Fidelity programs and gloat. Dr. Hyatt is correct when he said that even on fast computers todays programs still have deficiencies that make them only "masters" . Your friend is a weak master and realizes just like me that computers are fallible. I have checkmated Hiarcs 6 in 32 moves on a PII 333Mhz with 64 MB Ram but I am not even a rated player. I did it by an assault on the King position. I posted the game on May 20, 1999 01:41:19 here on CCC but nobody cared. Learn from your master friend but beware, if you try sacks on the King with todays systems you will probably lose. Try them anyway because it is fun to beat the computer once in a while and it is even more fun to get whipped trying your best. Tim Frohlick, Not a Master
