Internet chess allows you to choose whatever opponents you want for whatever reason. I think that GM's probably would want the toughest computer opponent when they play one since most of the time they will be searching for flaws in ideas. But that is their choice. Lots of people like to play computer verses computer. You can always find someone like that. There is no shortage. Others want to play only people for whateever reason. Why can't we let them choose anything they like? We are free to do likewise. And if they say "No I won't play you" or you say the same to someone, where is the harm in that? Just play somebody else with the same interests.
