Dear Guys and Gals, I would greatly appreciate hearing from Chess Assistant 4.0 (windows version) owners regarding their satisfaction, or lack of, with this product. I just saw the Chess Assistant web site where they advertize a $99 upgrade to 4.0 from any older DOS version, PLUS 1MM games, PLUS a free e-mail subscription of games for the next 6 months. This seems like an exceptionally good offer so I'd like your input. I presently have a 6 year old DOS version that corrupted my data when I compressed the base to eliminate duplicates. I presume this problem has been fixed in that interval. $99 for an upgrade seems like a deal compared to buying a Chess Base product from scratch. For my non-sophisticated needs (preparing for correspondence chess games), this seems very attractive. Sincerely, Steve
