I agree that Junior machine was better but I am not sure that my Junior5.4 is worse than Hiarcs on equal machines. Junior can find good moves that Hiarcs cannot find(for example the sacrifice against Nimzo that my Junior find also with my pentium200) Junior chose a bad opening line against Hiarcs in WCCC and could not hope for more than a draw inspite of the hardware advantage. I agree that Junior failed against shredder but one game is no proof that Junior is worse. My feelings is that shredder is the best one on equal hardware but I have no proof for it and I hope to be wrong about it. > >Why Junior and Fritz run with a powerful machine, Why Hiarcs not ???? were they >afraid that Hiarcs won the WCCC ?? I think that the main reason is that it is not easy to do a program that can work with more than 1 processor. Hiarcs version cannot profit from more than one processor and it is not an easy job to change it. Uri
