I don't think that the Hiarcs book is bad, after I let it play some games
against other opponents.

I fear, the reason why some people are getting strange moves out of the Hiarcs
book, is mishandling of the book.

At least in the german manual there is a *very important* passage about the
opening book:

It says, that the Hiarcs book works in a different way than the other chessbase
opening books (Fritz, Junior etc.) and therefore:

1) Don't use it in Fritz, Junior or Nimzo environment older than June 1999. Only
use it in the Hiarcs enironment!

2) Don't edit the book in any way, don't even start the editing functions,
because then all moves will lose their weights and Hiarcs will play simply
everything - even stupid things.

By the way (changing subject a bit), I've seen some very interesting games
played by Hiarcs. During the last days, I played a match Hiarcs7.32 - CSTal II,
game/60, and Hiarcs has shown a very attractive, aggressive style. You would
expect to see CSTal play some impressive King-attacks, but in fact I have seen
the same thing from Hiarcs too. Very aggressive, always going forward and
attacking, whenever possible. This is my first Hiarcs version, and I must say, I
like it!

Heiko.
