This position occurred in a game between Chessmaster 6000 and Hiarcs 7.32, game in 15 minutes. Chessmaster lost in time, however, because the engine never resigns, I decided to continue playing and to my surprise Hiarcs 7.32 fell into a swindle. It played a terrible move which allowed Chessmaster to get away with perpetual check. Fortunately for Hiarcs 7.32, it won on time, but it bothers me that Hiarcs 7.32 has some tactical bugs which needs to be fixed. I hope that Mark Uniacke is reading this, and perhaps he can post a fix to this engine bug. Below is the position: 8/r7/6Rp/Q1pk3P/2q2p2/2P5/8/KB6 w - - 0 1 Hiarcs played 1. Qxa7??? which allows Chessmaster 6000 to force a perpetual check with 1. Qxc3+. Fritz 5.32 finds an elegant solution, 1. Qa2 forcing an exchange and winning easily. Laurence
