In a recent tournament against GM's (I believe it was at Frankfurt), Fritz was said to be using a multi processor machine. Doesn't a program have to be specifically written to take advantage of multi-processors? If Fritz is doing this wouldn't it be a first for commercial programs? Just curious. Here was the specs mentioned: System boardMicroprocessor Intel Pentium II Xeon PRIMERGY 870-40 max. 4 processors, PRIMERGY 870-80 max. 8 processors (from end of 98) Data width 64-bit internal and external Clock rate cache-bus/host bus 400/100, 450/100 MHz Second-level cache integrated 512 Kbyte, 1 Mbyte or2 Mbyte (ab 450 MHz) with ECC RAM with EDC 128 Mbyte to max. 8 Gbyte Flash-EPROM BIOS update with FD or LAN possible Processor upgrade future Intel PentiumĀ® II processors with Slot 2 (IA32) Interfaces4 x RS-232-C (serial, 9-pin), 2 x USB, 1 x Centronics (parallel, 25-pin, EPP/ECP compatible), 2 x PS/2 (keyboard and mouse), 1 x CAN bus (15-pin), 1 x VGA (15-pin), 1 x RJ45 for LANOn-board controller Floppy disk drive 1,44 Mbyte Dual Ultra-wide-SCSI external drives / external Graphics Cirrus GD 5446 on PCI local bus (2 Mbyte)LAN Intel 82558 10/100 Mbit/s I/O processor Intel i960RD 66 MHz, I2O ready Floppy disk drive 3.5-inch, 1,44 MbyteCD-ROM drive 5.25-inch, 32-speed SCSI Hard disk drive 3.5-inch Ultra-wide/Ultra2-SCSI Net capacity 4 / 9 / 18 Gbyte hot-replace
