Subject: Proposal for getting more profit from our top-notch programs

I am sure almos all guys here share with me the following experience: you does
not get enough profit and enjoyment from the top-notch programs you already have
and not even know exactly how many things they can do for you because you are
thinking too much in those you still does not have or even does not exist yet.
Yesterday I realized how much time I have not loaded and played Rebel 10 because
of that, so I played two games in a row at 40/6o in my fastest computer, an
Armada 266, 98 Mb Ram. Rebel played with Anti-GM -anti patzer would fit better
fro me-, combination on, EOC in smart mode, tournament book, learning on and in
each game kicked my ass at around the 30º move phase, where I was between 0,5
and 1,12 points behind. The fact is that I have forgotten how good Rebel is, how
many things can do for me, etc. And the reason is the time I have lost playing
new freeware programs, testing, pitting one program against the other, etc.
I am sureif we could get a lot more fun if our best games -lost or won- could be
seen here ana analized publically for one or more Fide or IM that I know are
part of this club. It could be a way to improve our game AND to see the progress
of chess computer ahainst human at decent time, not hust a game in 30 minutes or
so. The my question is: are you, FM or IM players here, interested in looking at
the most interesting game of the month played by someone here and doing an
analysis of it and are you, members of this site, interested in delivering what
you consider your best game -lost or won, who cares- for that exercize? If this
kind of thing could be done, we could get not only a lot of fun, but some chess
education and we would produce another source for rating chess programs in the
decisive aspect of game played against the human race.
What do you think?
Fernando
