No, but mu chess workbench was actually speeded up when porting it to Scheme w. native code compiation. Then I changed to GNU(Small)Eiffel and it got even faster. Nwvardays I do rapid prototyping in Scheme and FORTH and get instant debugging due to the fast interprete-compile-execute cycle then translate it to SmallEiffel and get ansi-c code compilable almost everywhere, and the code can be verified to be correct due to the pre- and postconditions in the Eiffel DBC (design by contract). My experience is that C++ programming is overly time consuming. Dan Andersson
