That can happen when you believe hearsay and not ask the person involved. Assumptions are detrimental when applied to matters of this nature. Your comment above is totally without regard for the truth - you are merely assuming someone else's statement to be correct. This is not a good practice. Why not ask me if I had the settings you speak of, or if I didn't use copy tree to disc, or if I changed the weights?
