Not according to some definitions of OO, unless you emulate them via function
ptrs (or their equivs in other languages), which isn't faster than vtables.
Anyway, I wasn't going to use OO in time critical places, I was more interested
in the support of genericity and (the efficient parts of) the STL (yes, they do
exist ;-) ).
