You can only partly emulate somebodies playing style.

My opinion of the free programs is that Phalanx, Comet, and Crafty might be the
most aggressive free programs available.

Fortress plays somewhat human like moves.

Gromit and Lamb Chop and Der Bringer are good medium strength programs. Exchess,
La Dame Blanche, Inmichess are all very entertaining weeker programs.

You'll really have to try them for yourself and form your own opinions. Here's
some download sites: http://www.gambitsoft.com/sharee.htm and
http://www.computerschach.de/ and http://www.cent.co.yu/chess/

Also see Tim Mann's Winboard site for all sorts of Winboard engine links at:
http://www.research.digital.com/SRC/personal/Tim_Mann/chess.html and see what
Jeroen uses at: http://home.wxs.nl/~jimvandorp/Schaken.htm

That might keep you busy for a while, some of the other opinions to follow will
probably (?) be more valid than mine.

Pete
