Titus and Interplay have signed a new agreement: Virtual Chess is now distributed by Iterplay for 15$. (www.interplay.com) A new product is also presented, called Virtual Chess Academy, that costs 30$ and has some extra features, namely: interactive tutorials, and internet and local network connection capability. I was unable to understand which version of Virtual Chess they are selling, but I guess it should be the latest (2). For me, what is interesting about this story, is that they are going with such a big distributor, cutting on price but hoping to reach a wider audience. My question is: wouldn't this help all the chess software producer? What if instead of heaving 1.000.000 copies of ChessMaster sold each version and few tousands of copies of fritz, we would have Fritz/Rebel/Hiarcs/Junior... at $30 on the shelves of the supermarkets selling may be 10 times more than what they sell now, and CM7000 only 900.000 this time? regards Franz
