But Be6 is also good, leading to a knight versus bishop ending a pawn up, which should not be difficult to win either. Most likely Karpov was short on time, otherwise his failure to win this endgame is difficult to explain. I will analyze it later to see where else (besides move 57) Karpov's play can be improved.
