As you have seen elsewhere in the thread: the man has spoken :-) I think you're right with the learning feature. The game(s) I described were all played under the Fritz/Hiarcs interface. Crafty was 16.6 - the (tweaked?) version that came with Hiarcs 7.32. I'll take the game home and try again on my other machine - who did not have the chance to learn. And else - it will be Sherlock or Spiderman who will have to come to our rescue. Jeroen ;-}
