I too, have been on a life long quest for the best pocket chess computer and have several, including a Jasper. In my humble opinion the Jasper is so weak it doesn't even provide minimal amusement, and I'm not a strong player. Don't waste you money on this unit. Simply Awful! Same with the Avalon. Here's mu recommendation: It's expensive but one of the best pocket units is a Palm Pilot PDA running Pocket Chess. It plays about 1500 to 1600 with a an LCD screen and is about the size of a pack of playing cards. Dave
