They are absent now as it is vacation time. ;-)
Seriously, they are certainly convinced that the default settings are the best
ones but probably because they don't have enough time to tune their settings.
Imagine how much time Chris and Johan would have to spend to adjust their
numerous parameters. Besides Johan would have to tweak for CM and Tascbase. ;-)
Of course they don't have the time nor the resources to do so.

Clear, but it is too much work for only one man.
I think a good idea would be to build kind of Rebel user group and create
sub-groups which have to try different areas, e.g. one is simply adjusting the
king safety, another one the passed pawns etc., more combinations possible of
course. Just an idea. And of course it probably needs more testers than
available and willing. :-)
