Die-hard Deeper Blue fans? I find it hard to believe that people who, at the very least, seem smart enough to know better, could seriously entertain the thought that a machine that played six games and died deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as a man who has been beating the stuffings out of the world's best for the better part of two decades, and somehow keeps getting better. I've never lost a boxing match (never had one either). Does that make me a better boxer than Muhammad Ali, who did? Defeating someone in a brief, non-title match by the narrowest possible margin and then vanishing into thin air doesn't sound like a good way for Deeper Blue to make its claim on the World Title. Maybe there are some die-hard Deeper Blue fans out there who found something profound in the result of that exhibition match two years ago. Flat-earthers aren't exactly extinct, either.
