Very interesting, since odds games are a fun way to handicap the opponent. I'm not sure about the figure of 660 Elo handicap for the Queen being applicable against humans. I've beaten Fritz5 in a 30 minute game, by removing its Queen first. Fritz would have been playing at something around 2500 on my P6-200; and I'm probably only about 1200 (on a good day). So unless it was an amazing piece of luck, the Queen is worth more than a 600 Elo handicap. I remember being surprised at the time, that a player of my risible standard to beat Fritz "just" by removing its queen <g>. Quite satisfying. Cheers ! Quenton Fyfe
