The thing that is likely to be causing you problems getting Goliath to follow it's opening book is that you need to do some editing to the file goliath.ini The first several lines of mine are: HASHSIZE =12 ;[0 - 64 MB] SELECTIVITY =N ; [N or HIGH] SPECIAL =N ; [N, A, B, or E] ------------------------------- BOOK =ON LEARNING =ON LOG-FILE =OFF ;was on ------------------------------- So the most important line for getting your book to work is the one that says: Book = on everything should work ok, sorry about the slow response to your question Pete
