openingsbook: fritz5 special paderborn book made by Alexander Kure.
public available books: books made by Alexander kure

play right after book: no program qualifies, they all suck bigtime
here.

overall tactics: ferret
best unforced tactics: junior
exchanging towards endgame: Shredder
being in endgame: ferret
consequent play: crafty
making it opponent very difficult (giving it a lot of choices): hiarcs
positional play in middlegame: diep
best defender: shredder
best closed position play: patzer
shallowest search per rating point: lambchop
best in mating: the king (chessmaster >= 4000)
best anti-gm book: rebel
best interface: fritz
best database: chessbase

I'm considering slow level here. For blitz,
take a look at the icc server.

Ferret and Crafty at quad xeons are the toughest opponents there.
big gap, then third is Shredder (single processor), followed
by some others that are quite good in collecting rating.

I guess we cannot take into account those rating collectors,
like some that only play 3 0, 4 0 and 5 0 against humans
or other programs where they expect to win from.

comon, endgame of cg5 is big crap.
mchess8 plays very good when it has like 5 rows at least
