What is the purpose of CCC? Why are we here at all and not all over meeting in news:rec.games.chess.computer? If you will recall, it is because there is near total freedom of speach in an unmoderated USENET forum. Because of that very freedom, it came to be quite a horrible place [to stuffed-shirt, geeks like me ;-)]. If you want unmoderated, unadulterated, free-for-all, do anything you like -- then you know where to get it. This is a moderated forum. It is silly even to suggest that we simply drop all moderation. Without moderation, this forum serves no purpose whatsoever. The moderation *itself* is its very reason for being.
