Terry,

Yes, discussions on moderation are always on topic.

But don't you think that 150+ posts on this particular insanity are enough? It
will probably be close to 250 or more by the time this one blows over.

I have been having Emails with Fernando and quite frankly, I do not understand
why he got SO bent out of shape in the first place. A simple stupid nothing of a
demented religious sexual joke of a post got deleted. Big deal. It should have
meant nothing to nobody. Instead, it got blown up into the biggest controversy
in 6 months.

I really am not trying to be fascist here. I'm trying to get us back on track.
And quite frankly, that means discussions on computer chess as the norm and
discussion on moderation as the exception.

And the point I was trying to make in that previous post was not that I want to
yellow card Fernando. I want to stop the insanity. And I see Fernando as the
person who keeps starting it (first with the sexist thread 3 weeks ago, then
with the joke post, then with the resignation proclamation, then with the
reposting in Spanish), who then propogates it, and then posts brand new Emails
at the top of the page to continue it yet again.

Starting a new post displays his opinion of it right at the top of the heap. It
is a nice technique to ensure that his post will not be lost in the middle of
the huge moderation thread. And, it is a nice technique to start it all back up
again. That is what I want to stop.

I do not mind people continuing to add to the growing moderation threads that
are already there. I mind troublemakers starting new ones and right now,
Fernando is on the top of my troublemaker list. In fact, he is the only person
on that list. And it is so unfortunate and so unneccessary.
