You're right, it could be the other program -- anything's possible.  Given that
their Winboard adapter doesn't do things the same way that Winboard does them,
and that their autoplayer didn't act the way the original one did (see back
posts where Rebel's learner wasn't getting activated), I suspect that there's
some more implementation-specific weirdness going on.  I wouldn't say that it's
done intentionally.  Of course, others wouldn't say that it isn't done
intentionally either! :/
