Fritz' manual is also very good and a tip would be to read the 90 pages carefully. Of course ChessBase 7,0 gives you more - it's defintely better than CB 6,0 - but there is also the question about money. With your rating I think Fritz would give you all you need for quite a while! And ChessBase won't disappear anyway! The database function in Fritz is very easy to use and gives a lot of possibilities. Not to mention the tree function as openingbook. Good luck! Sune
