I think I understand what you are saying.And I agree.
However, in my opion, a spread of less than 100 ELO in computor chess must be
taken with a pinch of salt.
My Mephisto XL rated at 1900 USA (Dallas program)at 1min/move has beaten often
my Mephisto Vancouver at 1min/ move rated at 2250 USA (Also based on the Dallas
program).
In my humble opion,when programs are from the same family,an ELO of at least 150
is required to be superior.
When programs are from different families "il va falloir" add 250 ELO to be
superior.
I purchased Fritz 5.32 for it's analytical capabilty and ease of use and
features.And I firmly believe that the future of chess programs are in that
direction.
