Now, I was curious to see if it would repeat a4 so I replayed the move and it selected Rf1 with a plus score of around 0.40. I then allowed Hiarcs to replay the move again, and again it selected Rf1 with the same plus score. Therefore, the only conclusion I could arrive at was the learning process had prohibited Hiarcs from repeating a4 for it was a bad choice. _____ > > >About the second position: >7k/6p1/7p/pR6/1p2N3/6P1/2r4P/6K1 w - - 0 1 > >I think that h4 is leading to a draw and the same for Nc5 >It is easy for white to get draw after Nc5 Ra2 (for example Nb7 a4 Rxb4 a3 >Ra4 Rb2 Rxa3 Rxb7) __________________ After Hiarcs played h4, I played a4 - the sequence is in my original post "To Mark Young" - and I forced a Draw. Now, Nc5 is I believe a better move than h4 and allows White winning chances, and at least a draw. The point is h4 leads to a forced draw but Nc5 allows for a possible win without any risk because White can get a draw later if necessary. Nb7 is not a good move and would not be played. I know how Hiarcs wanted to play after Nc5 but it did not in my opinion know how to handle the position as well as Rebel 10. After Nc5 I believe White can easily win one of the passed pawns and have a good game with careful play.
