That is strange.
In your windows directory there should be a a Chssbase.ini file with the lines

[Tablebase]
Path=[Disk:\directory\tablebase]
CacheSizeKB=[number of KB] (say 2048)

that is if you generated tablebases on your harddisk.

Any Fritz GUI engine able to read them (the crafties, Hiarcs) will read them.
