Apart from CM, there are a few other programs running with 3rd-party engines. I can't think of all of them right now, but here are those I can remember off-hand: Sierra Power Chess : WChess engine Mephisto Meisterschach: Shredder 1 engine There are other cases where the engine writer was not involved in the writing of the GUI (e.g. Fritz), but these are very common right now; most companies have specialists for writing certain functions that are beyond the pure engine (GUI, database etc.). --- Shep
