As I have quite some chess programs, I would like to describe them on my website as a service to those who wanna buy or download the program. I don't have enough chess knowledge to evaluate the strength of a program, being the lousy patzer that I am. So I could stick to a description with more screenshots than "usual". However screenshot graphics mean long dowloads. I could solve the problem by making a lot of hyperlinks to the pictures from the text. Or I could put low rez pics on the site - or combine the two solutions. So the focus will be on feel 'n touch and objective despcription rather than on quality of the chess engine. But before that all: As you folks out there are regular buyers and downloaders of chess software and experienced with it I am curious about how important you think it is that you know how the interface looks like. Do you think it changes your judgement when you would compare your decision to buy/not to buy or to download/not to download with or without pictures of the actual screen(s) and interface? Of course it would be useless for me to create such pages if you're only interested in chess engine strenght. Maybe this would make a CCC poll: how do the looks of a chess interface influence your decision to buy or dowload it? Do you think if chess software providers show enough of their product on the Web? Okay two questions ;-) Maybe no poll question, but I am interested in the opinions of the CCC community anyway. Thanks for your response.
