Subject: Hiarcs7.32 Search > What does this exactly mean: depth 9/30?

 Does this really mean its search is at 9 ply Brute force and 30 ply Selective?

To do a 9 ply Brute force search, wouldn`t the figures be in the Billions of
moves to search every single legal move? Using a home PC to do this search seems
almost impossible under a time control of 40/2hr, but what is it i`am missing?
