Subjective factors? Objective factors, i presume!? Tactics rule in chess
position evaluation. Bad positions are bad because of tactics (material is a
measure of tactics in a way) the problem is enumerating the various evaluations,
as (objectiv-forced) mating and drawing variations are often absent, therefore
programs (and humans) use heuristics. In a chess program it is ok to have
3*Minors>1*Queen. Bad trades will get pruned as tactics dominate the search.
Sorry for my rant, but chess is mostly tactics. An experience I learned as I got
better in chess.
